Evening Social - The Jet Engine, a talk by Dr Graham Rood

For the Clubs monthly meeting in November, Dr Graham Rood has once again kindly agreed to present a fascinating talk relating to the aviation industry. This month’s subject delves into the history of the jet engine which was invented in the early 1940s and completely revolutionised the future of both military and civil aviation. This illustrated talk will explore the evolution of the jet, why it replaced much of propeller-driven flight, the development of the technology over the decades and finish of by trying to look into the future of the jet age in these environmental conscience times.
Graham is currently the Club’s Honorary President and also a volunteer at the Farnborough Air Sciences Museum. His previous talks for the Club have always been well received and we suspect this one will be no exception.
