Evening Social - Pub Quiz

The Clubs first monthly social gathering of the new year sees the return of our ever-popular Pub Quiz.
Following the traditional trivia quiz format, teams will need to answer a series of questions based upon various themed rounds (general knowledge, film, politics, geography, pot luck, for example), plus there’s the added opportunity for gaining bonus points!
The event promises to be a light hearted and thoroughly entertaining evening suitable for all tastes.
As a guide, we usually look to form teams of about six people and it would be great if numbers attending allowed us to have at least five teams as a minimum.
Further Information
This event is open to all Club members, accompanying friends and family members, and non-Club members.
Attendance is free with no advanced booking required – although we would appreciate if non-Club members could confirm their attendance with a member of the committee beforehand please.
The event starts at 8pm and should finish no later than 10pm.
A range of meals are available at the venue, so why not arrive early and grab a bite to eat before the meeting starts.
Location
The Raven (Hotel & Pub), Hook, Hampshire, RG27 9HS.

Evening Social - Natter: A History of A.C. Barnes of Wokingham

For our February monthly social, Martin Barnes will be telling the story of how a retired veteran of the First World War created one of the first Bedford Dealerships in the country, how that business contributed to the effort of the Second World War and how it went on to become one of the largest garages in the area.
This evening promises to be a highly interesting motoring story about a local business perhaps known by many of our members.

Our Annual General Meeting is a permeant fixture in the Clubs annual calendar and is an important opportunity for our many members to come together and engage with our committee.

Sunday 12th May

The Basingstoke Festival of Transport

The Basingstoke Festival of Transport is an annual, long-established show held on the War Memorial Park and is a great day out for all the family, whether you're a keen motor buff or you just want an interesting and enjoyable Sunday!
As in previous years the park will be filled with static displays of classic and vintage cars, commercial vehicles, fire engines, military trucks and more, from a variety of local clubs and private enthusiasts. Plus, a range of trade stalls, family activities and catering outlets will be available to enjoy.
The Hants & Berks Motor Club, alongside other regional motor clubs, have been invited to display a selection of classic cars for the event, therefore we are looking for willing enthusiasts to either come along with their vehicle to display on our Club stand, or to help out as a marshal / representative.
There are no restrictions on marque or style, the event is open to all classics, veteran, vintage, modern-classic, kit-cars, sports cars and even those rare or more unusual models.
Please note that the Basingstoke Festival of Transport event itself is NOT a Hants & Berks Motor Club event.
Entry Details
This event is open to all Club members, accompanying friends and family members, and non-Club members including private enthusiasts and displays from fellow motor clubs.
This is a pre-booked event and places are limited, so please Neal Day, who is acting as our Club coordinator, and he will send on entry forms or additional details.
Location
The War Memorial Park, Basingstoke, RG21 4AH.
For visitors, public parking is available at Old Common, London Road for a small charge.
