Evening Social - Club Annual General Meeting & Awards Presentation

Our Annual General Meeting is a permeant fixture in the Clubs annual calendar and is an important opportunity for our many members to come together and engage with our committee.
The evening is split into two parts with the formal A.G.M. first followed after a refreshment break by the Clubs annual awards presentation.
During the A.G.M. members of the committee will be reviewing the past year’s finances, activities and achievements, as well as looking ahead to the forthcoming year. Attending Club members have the opportunity to cast votes, discuss opinions or ideas, or suggest new activities and events.
The subsequent awards presentation sets out to reward nominated members for their support, enthusiasm or achievements within the Club during the past year.

Please note that due to the nature of this event, strictly only valid members of the Hants & Berks Motor Club are permitted to attend, thank you. For members attendance is free with no advanced booking required.
The event starts at 8pm and should finish no later than 10pm.

Evening Social - Club Table-Top Map Reading Exercise

Come test your map reading skills without having to leave the comfort of the pub!
The Club Table-Top is an indoor map reading exercise where teams, of ideally no more than four persons, are tasked with answering a series of map-related questions within an allocated time limit.
Some questions are descriptive, but most will be pictorial, based upon extracts and street view / satellite stills taken from the internet.
Although questions will vary in difficulty, we have tried to design the event to be a fun, enjoyable evening. You don’t need to be skilled in map reading to take part and help will on hand for those less experienced. Prizes will be awarded to the winning team.
To participate teams will require at the very least a copy of Ordnance Survey Landranger Map 175 Reading & Windsor (edition 2017 or later, older editions may put you at a disadvantage), something to write with, a 30cm rule, calculator and magnifying glass.
Also, as we’re not sure how bright the room lighting is, we do recommend bringing a torch along as a precaution.
Further Information
This event is open to all Club members, accompanying friends and family members, and non-Club members.
Attendance is free with no advanced booking required – although we would appreciate if non-Club members could confirm their attendance with the organiser beforehand please.
The event starts at 8pm and should finish no later than 10pm.
A range of meals are available at the venue, so why not arrive early and grab a bite to eat before the meeting. Location
The Raven (Hotel & Pub), Hook, Hampshire, RG27 9HS.

First run in 1995 the Early Bird successful launched the Club into the world of classic car events and is still going strong today.
After being flagged off the start line at Woodley, near Reading, participants navigate a carefully pre-planned scenic route before arriving at the events finish location. The route is around 85 miles and keeps mainly to ‘A’, ‘B’ and minor roads as much as possible – ideal for classic car motoring.
As we are celebrating our 25th edition of the event, we decided to return to where the very first Early Bird finished back in 1995, the Cotswold Motoring Museum in the picturesque village of Bourton on the Water where, apart from the museum, features a whole host of restaurants, pubs and shops to visit.

Classics in the Park at the Woodley Community Carnival

The annual Woodley Community Carnival is a family friendly show held in the grounds of Woodley’s Woodford Park, starting from 12 noon the afternoon features a host of activities including a fun fair, street procession, entertainment and community stalls.
Of course, no summer show would be complete with its classic car display, and at the Woodley Carnival the task has traditionally been the responsibility of the Hants & Berks Motor Club.
With a large area of the park to fill we are therefore looking for willing enthusiasts to either come along with their vehicle to display, or to help out as a marshal / representative.

Further details of this event will be published in due course...
