Events_Museum Visit

Saturday 29th December

The Shuttleworth Collection, Heritage Open Day

The Club’s end of year gathering will once again be held at the Shuttleworth Collection, near Biggleswade, which is holding its annual Engineering Open Workshop.
This is a great opportunity to see behind the scenes of this prestigious collection of historic aircraft, motorcars and agricultural equipment. Get to view areas and projects not usually on show and chat to various skilled engineers and volunteers from the aircraft and vehicle workshop teams.
Weather permitting, rides will be also available on a 1913 open top double Wellingborough bus.
Please note that the Shuttleworth Heritage Day itself is a NOT a Hants & Berks Motor Club event.
For further details regarding the museum and the event (which is also running on Friday 28th), please visit their website by CLICKING HERE (opens new page).
Normal museum admission prices will apply.
The plan is for members to meet up in the car park at 10:30am before heading off to explore the site (the event runs from 10:00am to 4:00pm).
For those who have a classic car, and assuming reasonable weather on the day, then this event would make a good opportunity for a mid-winter run.
Location
Shuttleworth, Old Warden Aerodrome, near Biggleswade, Bedfordshire, SG18 9EP

Pub Quiz (evening social)

The Clubs first monthly social gathering of the new year sees the return of our ever-popular Pub Quiz. Following the traditional trivia quiz format, teams will need to answer a series of questions across various themed rounds (general knowledge, film, politics, geography, pot luck, for example), plus there’s the added opportunity for gaining bonus points!
The event promises to be a highly entertaining evening suitable for all ages and skill levels.
As a guide, we usually look to form teams of about six people and it would be great if numbers attending allowed us to have at least five teams as a minimum.
Further Information
This event is open to all Club members, accompanying friends and family members, and non-Club members.
Participation is free with no advanced booking required – although we would appreciate if non-Club members could confirm their attendance with the organiser beforehand please.
The event starts at 8pm and should finish no later than 10pm.
